Pentagon teams with MIT on artificial intelligence, big-data education

The Pentagon has partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to develop an Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Education Initiative. The initiative aims to equip individuals at all levels within the Department of Defense (DoD) with the necessary knowledge and skills to take full advantage of AI and big data applications. As part of this effort, the DoD has invested more than $200 million in educational materials, training, and research opportunities for its personnel.

The goal of the initiative is to provide an in-depth education on the various capabilities that AI and big data can offer, as well as to develop a trained workforce that knows how to apply these technologies efficiently and effectively.
